Recreation Supervisor II - Athletics & Youth Programs - OFFER EXTENDED
- Job Description
The purpose of this position is to plan, develop, and implement athletic and youth programs and assist with aquatic operations. This is accomplished by hiring, training, and supervising personnel and evaluating program activity. Other duties include providing information to the public, division budget preparation, managing the operations of the department, and assisting with special events.
- Examples of Duties
Coordination and supervision of Youth and Adult athletic programs, events, clinics and tournaments including but not limited to: soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, tennis, community fun runs, camps, aquatics and any other sporting activity deemed appropriate by the department. Responsible for the development and management of assigned staff; gathering supplies and equipment, preparing schedules, contract negotiation; acts as liaison with community groups, schools, coaches and parents; coordinates and leads quarterly youth sports meetings with various community groups; develops and implements policies and procedures related to youth sports operation and conduct; acts as champion for sportsmanship in youth sports and development and implementation of behavior expectations guidelines and programs for youth, coaches, parents and patrons. Responsible for coordinating and conducting registration and promotional activities; sets up venues and oversees all aspects of athletic programs and events; provides activity plans and program evaluation and improvement measures; ensures facilities and equipment is safe and clean for patrons.
Implements youth recreation and sport camps through the development of summer camp, seasonal camps and sports and aquatic camps. Supervises personnel and volunteers by interviewing applicants for open positions; coordinating the hiring process, conducting employee training sessions, and supervises staff; works with various divisions and departments to create positive experience for parks patrons; ensures summer camp meets requirements for ACA accreditation; develops and implements code of conduct for personnel and ensures integrity of program through solid implementation; coordinates field trips and special programs related to camps; ensures clean safe environment for patrons. Be a positive role model for summer camp personnel.
Administrative responsibilities include providing information and details regarding various programs; conducting registration via registration software; evaluating programs; monitoring work activities: aquatics, athletics (classes, leagues and tournaments), camps and special events. Assists with developing, monitoring and ensuring sound fiscal management of budget allocations; completes cost analysis reports to ensure division fiscal goals and objectives are being met; develops and implements promotional documents; develops and implements policies and procedures and program goals and objectives; prepares reports and ensure procurement laws and ordinances are followed; sets priorities and encourages teamwork and positive work environment through leadership efforts, and completes special assignments and projects. Assists with cost analysis, fees and charges and meeting revenue and expenditure goals.

- Minimum Qualifications
Requires Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation or Related field; Valid Class C Driver's License; CPR/AED, American Red Cross
Requires over three years up to and including five years related experience including at least three years supervisory experience.

Pay: $59,455 to $86,829/year
