Part-Time Fire Prevention Inspector
- Job Description
The purpose of this position is to assist the Fire Marshal's Office in the performance of Fire Code Compliance Inspections.
- Examples of Duties
Performs Inspector Duties, investigating common causes of fire ignition and making requests to rectify the deficiency; enforcing the 2018 International Fire Code, as adopted by the City of Bellaire. Physical duties to include walking up or down stairs, kneeling or bending, driving in moderate traffic, situational exposure to weather and dealing with the public.
Performs administrative duties by preparing and maintaining inspection reports utilizing iPad and Firehouse Software; assisting in planning daily inspection priorities .
- Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Texas Driver's License.
Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. and up to one year of related work experience.
- Supplemental Information
Preferred qualifications include: Valid Class B Driver's License; Texas Certified Firefighter, Texas Commission on Fire Inspection I Certification; Texas Certified EMT, BTLS, CPR Certified, Hazardous Material Awareness training, Fire Officer I.
