POSITION SUMMARY
CITY SUMMARY: Bellaire, Texas is located seven miles southwest of downtown Houston with a population of approximately 18,862 residents and a span of 3.5 square miles. POSITION SUMMARY: The Chief Plant Operator ensures the efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plant, overseeing daily activities, managing budgets, and maintaining compliance.
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 7am-4pm with some required nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency response required on an on-call basis.
PAY RANGE: $33.23 to $48.19 per hourESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operational Oversight:
- Manages the daily operations of water and wastewater treatment systems, assigning work, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Maintenance and Analysis:
- Monitors and maintains equipment, performs electrical scans, identifies maintenance needs, and conducts routine system maintenance.
- Resource Management:
- Manages supplies, allocates resources, purchases chemicals and materials, and oversees budgeting.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepares and submits reports to City, state, and federal agencies, ensuring compliance with permits and regulations.
- Personnel Supervision:
- Provides guidance to staff, conducts performance evaluations, and fosters positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
- Operational Oversight:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education High School Diploma or GED
Experience 6-7 years of previous relevant work experience is required.
Supervisory No previous supervisory experience is required.
