Job Description

The purpose of this position is to perform clerical and administrative functions for the Municipal Court. This is accomplished by processing citations, collecting fees, maintaining the court schedule, preparing complaints, and entering data. Other duties include running reports, signing up defendants for defensive driving, and issuing jury summons.

Examples of Duties

Provides clerical support by answering telephones; routing phone calls; entering data; completing deposits; mailing jury summons, reset forms, and subpoenas for witnesses; processing and distributing mail; and collecting money.

Provides administrative court support by signing and affixing the court seal on complaints; presenting motions and appearance bonds; maintaining the court filing system; coordinating arraignment and trial dockets; assisting with translations; assisting the Court Clerk, Judges, prosecutors, and public; and typing, filing, and maintaining records.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; at least one year clerical and high-volume customer service experience; ability to work effectively with the public and co-workers, sometimes under sensitive circumstances.
