Overall Job Objective


Supervise and assist with day camp activities for children and perform related tasks as required. Plan and supervise recreational day camp activities, such as arts, crafts, sports, games, and hobbies. Interact with campers and their parents and provide indoor and outdoor enrichment programs. Ensure the safety and well-being of program participants and perform other duties as required.


  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of day camp and assist in all summer office needs as requested by Recreation Supervisors
    1. Assists in planning special events and provides information about programs to the public
    2. Track daily attendance and produce comprehensive camper data 
    3. Assists with the various administrative tasks necessary for the camp to run efficiently
    4. Ensures the maintenance of the accurate program and administrative records
    5. Maintain camp binders for expenses, field trips, session rosters
    6. Maintain inventory of camp equipment before camp begins and again when camp ends
    7. Provides up-to-date camper rolls by the group to the Supervisors, Group Leads and Counselors
      1. Maintain and disseminate accurate contact information for staff, campers, and parents
      2. Run daily camper lists for drop-off and pick-up procedures
      3. Run daily camper lists for After-Care procedures
      4. Manages, directs, and coordinates the Group Leads and Counselors for assigned locations
        1. Make Camp Group Lead binders for each session that include weekly roll sheets, camper information, emergency contacts, authorized pick-up, and other documents
        2. Ensures that all program schedules are completed satisfactorily and promptly
        3. Make folders for orientation events
        4. Ensures high-quality programs through creating and scheduling all camp sessions and activities
          1. Make car placards for each session
          2. Confirm field trips, rentals, and buses for field trips
          3. Check-in camper late arrivals and check-out campers leaving early
          4. Assist in all phone communications related to camper registration and general camp questions. Refer appropriate messages to Recreation Supervisor
          5. Responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing all camp policies and emergency procedures associated with the camp
            1. Track and maintain records of staff CPR, First Aid, and Safe Sanctuary Training
            2. Order first aid supplies for Camp Group Leads and Counselors
            3. Develops and maintains good relationships with campers, parents, administrators, community, and camp staff
              1. Leader in parent communication and addresses parents' concerns promptly, and seeks the help of Recreation Supervisor when necessary
              2. Enforce rules and regulations of recreational facilities to maintain discipline and ensure safety
              3. Leads weekly staff meetings and attends all mandatory camp staff meetings and training events
              4. Be a role model to campers and staff in your attitude and behavior
              5. Perform other duties as requested or required


              18 years of age or older


              • Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of the following pre-employment checks:
