Overall Job Objective


Responsible for performing duties related to the operations of the Recreation Center. Assist Parks, Recreation, and Facilities management in providing general assistance and support to recreational programs and daily activities. Assist with recreational aquatic programs and recreational activities, act as frontline staff for front desk area, perform tasks such as answering phones, taking Splash Pass registrations and checking patrons into the facility, ensuring program participants' safety and well-being, and perform other tasks duties as required.  Work hours include morning, evening, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. 


  • Greets Recreation Center patrons and assists to answer questions regarding the Recreation Center and the City of Bellaire
    1. Answers the phone and provides excellent customer service
    2. Issues equipment
    3. Handles payments and money according to procedures
    4. Maintains the facility for cleanliness and reports maintenance issues
    5. Organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational aquatic programs and recreational activities 
    6. Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in recreational activities and demonstrate the use of materials and equipment
    7. Enforces and adheres to the personnel, safety, and departmental policies and procedures of the City of Bellaire
    8. Communicate with parents of program participants
    9. Set up prior to and clean up after program activities
    10. Supports other areas of the Recreation Center by assisting with special events
    11. Attends mandatory training and in-service meetings
    12. Confer with management and supervisor to discuss and resolve participant complaints, unusual problems, disturbances, and emergencies
    13. Administer first aid according to prescribed procedures and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary 
    14. Act as a liaison between program and field staff
    15. Assists co-workers and other departments as needed
    16. Performs other duties as assigned.


    • Minimum age of 15 years old
    • Experience or training in personal computer use with Microsoft Office software


    • Work hours include morning, evening, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
    • Standard First Aid Certification
    • CPR-Adult, Child and Infant Airway Obstruction
    • AED-Automated External Defib
    • Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of the following pre-employment checks:
      • Criminal background check (18 years old and older)
      • Controlled substance screening
